Made it back to Germany last weekend to visit my friend Beate and ended up in a place called Mülheim which is a super village near Essen Germany. I love Germany and after we spent the day walking around the park we decided to go for something to eat. Well, you know me, if I can combine dinner with a tipple then I am twice the happy pumpkin! lol

So, after strolling for 15 minutes and debating several restaurants, Beate said that a new Irish pub had just opened around the corner from her flat. Irish pub, I thought smirking, this could be fun!

We made our way towards the location, and I must say, one can clearly see from 50 meters that it is an Irish pub. Celtic fonts on the signs and a mad beer garden where the party was already in full swing. We tip toed through the party people and entered the Irish Pub Mülheim which is called Mulinhems Inn.

The folks there were ever so friendly and it was like being in an Irish farmhouse cottage. I mean, I really felt like I was in Ireland. They have a traditional British menu, snacks and beer. The food is yummy!

There was also live music and they played Irish music during the interval.

I don’t know what time we left, which means it must have been a great night.

What a super place…. ;o)

But seriously, I was looking for something funny for my moms birthday and came across this website!?!

Custom Irish Ballads

You simply send the name of the person who you want a custom Irish ballad written for (even yourself) and this dude will write and record it specially for you. I thought … OK …scam …but no! My song arrived on time with a certificate of “Pure Irishness” and I nearly fell off my seat.

Even if you don’t buy something it is worth checking out the site for the pure kitchiness factor. Made my week! lol

Three weeks ago me and Kitty went to Germany for 3 weeks to visit aunt Gertrude and had a fantastic time. We were shopping in Essen which is a huge city in the middle of Germany. It was fab and Gertrude told me all about Essen so I have decided to share it with you here.

Essen was until recently one of the main engineering focal points in Germany. It is even now domicile to the well-known Krupp descendants who were one of the main engines at the back the intense manufacture in the Ruhr region. In fact one of the biggest tourist entertainment in Essen is a excursion of the former coal and steel facilities, many of which have become centers of talent, the rest are now destroyed. Essen is also home to one of the chief “trade fair” focal points in Germany and hosts various intercontinental shows every year. This city is an vital section of German memoirs but at the same time an ultra-modern and mature municipality of commerce.

There are lots of opportunities to enjoy the city and the extraordinary treats it has to offer. While the city center is rather condensed Essen at the same time has lots of bounds that are seen as part of Essen as a whole. The new-fangled precious stone in the tiara is the gigantic “Limbecker Platz” shopping center that at this time has shoppers drooling at the mouth because of the vast quantity of shops, food halls and parking places on hand to its customers. It was a massive task of both structure and design and is at the moment the pride and delight of every Essen citizen.

For a further bohemian shopping event one can always stay in “Rüttenscheider strasse” which is primarily made up of more privately owned stores with more exclusive items. Sprinkled with miniature coffee shops and wine bars it is undeniably the place for the more urbane shopper. This neighborhood is to be found towards the south region of the city which has long been known for its more eclectic frame of mind.

For a more American variety mall sensation I would warmly suggest the “Rhine Ruhr Center” which is in principle on the edge of Mülheim an der Ruhr but visited by many general public of Essen. With its mezzanine attitude it fills the customer with a heavenly observation of the shopping locale. This center normally has some manner of themed exhibition every month and is a nice treat to break away from the horde for a little while. There is at the same time a attractive fount spot full with adorable restaurants and saloons.

I myself enjoy “Essen Steele” because of the rural community sensation that it furnishes. It is a mixture of experiences for the average shopper or those seeking something a little different. There are a few extraordinarily nice antique stores where one can discover immaculate items for bargain prices.

I have scarcely touched the Essen shopping experience but I can kindly recommend it as a shopping retreat and with this state being the “European City of Culture 2010″ who knows what attractions you may find to amplify your experience.

Guys you should really visit Germany if you get a chance….I love it!

Sorry I haven’t written for a while but I have been very busy with a new evening course that I am taking in “Womens Rights 1900-present day”. A lot of the stuff about womens rights I already know but I am also learning some real interesting new things that have really surprised me.

Anyway, on to the real point of this post.

I got a new marmalade kitten and I have decided to call her “Buzby”. Last week while I was attending my course she peed one one of my favorite Asian rugs and it stank like….well…cat piss! I have tried everything but can’t get the stain out. Luckily, the foul stench is no longer there.

I wouldn’t mind but I had set up a lovely litter box in the corner of the kitchen. Drat!

If anybody has a tip as how to remove a cat pee stain from an expensive Asian rug…please let me know?!?

Other than that I am fine and promise to write here more regularly.

P.S. I will tell you more about my love life soon…

It was fantastic…we dashed through the waves like two kids and I haven’t felt so young in a long time. Life in the city seems to be so repetitive and we just reel along and forget about the really important things in life. For instance, I hardly taste my coffee in the morning but I really love the smell and taste of freshly ground coffee. When you escape that, even if it’s just for a day, you start to appreciate things again.

We collected shells and splashed each other. I even built a sand castle and a moat. Then we went to a little harbor side restaurant and ate fresh fish. Nothing like the fish we sometimes eat in the city which kind of looses its taste after being on the road for a few days. There was a brass band on the Prominade but we didn’t stay for long. It was mostly Grannies or kids and we needed something a bit jazzier. To our great surprise there was a club with techno music open and it was only 2 in the afternoon. Needless to say we got sloshed and danced like lunatics. Although it felt weird coming out from a club pissed and it was still bright outside.

On the way home, we took the train so that we could have a few drinks, the landscape was really nice and I fell asleep and nearly missed the station. All in all it was a super day and we plan to do it more often so that we feel more alive.

Snowball throttler beware of your social image

You roll your giant hand around your balls,

Snow balls that is, and you hide your bold facade,

Waiting in antic-like anticipation for those you are about slay,

A devilish chuckle spits through your twisted clenched lips,

The ball in your hand a grenade of terror for a little soldier,

They come, your eye twitches at the corner intrudence,

You wait, arm long like a gorilla, catlike stance,

Throwing , direct hit, the target falls, shocked from the surprise,

You run home in delight, a satisfied lad.

Frank was the D.J. and he was playing soul and funk from the seventies.

I got really drunk and so did Annie but we still managed to get home in one piece. We were soaking wet though because it was raining hard.

I managed to go the whole night without smoking a single cigarette so it should make my new years resolution a lot easier if I start now.

I finally got around to buying a new camera and decided on the Canon in the end because Jenny has one so I got to take it for a test drive first. lol

All my christmas presents are bought but I dread the Christmas family reunion…it always ends in tears.

I hope you all like the look of my blog and that it isn’t too kitch.
